A new blog...new year

After the hours spent running the Tega Cay Underground, I have recommitted to blogging, but one that will be productive for the family. So, I will start with some Underground/election pix to bridge the blogger gap...

CAM'S 1ST POLITICAL RALLY- AGE 5

Steve took Cam to a rally for Hillary this spring in Rock Hill. I was so bummed to be working that day. How cool it would have been to be 5 and see a woman elected President. My first was Dukakis....many moons ago!

Kindergarten Registration for Camryn

Camryn went to kindergarten registration to prepare her for her first day of kindergarten. I just found these pix on Steve's cell phone and just thought they were so cute. There were 19 graduating fifth graders on hand to give groups of new kindergarteners a tour of Gold Hill Elementary. Maria was one of the nineteen tour leaders and is it not funny that the Browns were assigned to her? (wink wink) Maria was in awe how that all worked out and definitely took care of her young cousin. Cam thought it was the coolest thing ever and just followed Maria around from classrooms to the bus.

Swimmin' Hole July 2008

Finally, photos from our "paradise"! I took my camera and everything, but found out I removed my media card the night before! So, once again, my phone did the trick. We spent about 4 hours down there again. Up and down the river....the kids love the backside where the frogs and tads are abundant. After 2 runs with drops above the hole, we finally saw our first snake. Well, the boys saw the snake, sunning on the bank and screamed up to me that it was there. Abby was a good 20 feet behind them and swam back up stream and stood on a rock screaming bloody murder! Perry, her hero cousin, went back for her, braving a pass of the snake again. The two of them crawled back up the bank. Those boys talked about that snake for hours after that.......and I thought it would ruin the day. That big ol snake probably watched us all day from above our spot. Did I mention it was as wide as Perry's lower leg and about as tall as him? Yeah, great......

Landsford Canal

Landford Canal has never disappointed! I have never taken a kid there that does not love it! Cam took the only bucket and those boys BEGGED her to let them use it! They built dams and caught frogs and tadpoles! All 5 are in the photo on the left. Click to see them !

Carowinds 2008!

For the first time ever we opened and closed Carowinds! Perry and Lincoln are down from Michigan and staying with us for a week and we knew Carowinds would be on our to do list!! My mom, Maria and John joined us, too, so Steve and I had all of our kids and niece and nephews all together for such a memorable day. All the kids are within 6 years....just perfect for the pool, rides and slides! Did I mention that it was 99 degrees!!Jack (9), Maria (11),Perry (11), Lincoln (8), Abby (7), Cam (5) & up front, John (6)

Always a goof photo!

This was on our manic riding frenzy. It was a ride that I told Steve he would not get wet on!

The people riding it had a trigger to drop loads of water on the spectators, but the spectators (me and Cam!) had huge guns to get them with as they passed over us! Needless to say, there was no way they could not get soaked!! haha! Mom was a trooper and took Johnny on it...you have to click on this to see Johnny's face!! haha! As my mom said, he will be talking about this one for a while!

Abby -2006

This is so funny! This is Perry and Maria. This must have been, well, before Jack! I am going to go with early 99 as they both look about 2. Uncle Derek won these Poke Mon giants at the games. They were bigger than them, but they loved it.

Oh, there you are Maria! You two still look exactly the same at (gasp!) 11 years old!
